Os 100 melhores álbuns de rap de todos os tempos, segundo a Pitchfork

A revista Pitchfork divulgou seu ranking dos 100 melhores álbuns de rap de todos os tempos, definindo-os como alguns dos “álbuns mais essenciais e influentes” do gênero. A lista foi elaborada pela própria equipe editorial da Pitchfork, sem votação pública, mas com base em critérios de música e contexto cultural. Segundo os organizadores, foram enfatizados a qualidade do rap como ofício e a representatividade de estilos diversos, evitando repetir muitos álbuns de um mesmo artista.

Na compilação, buscou-se dar espaço a cenas pouco canonizadas e garantir variedade: por exemplo, foram minimizados casos de múltiplos discos da mesma pessoa. Apesar de reconhecer lacunas inevitáveis (como a menor presença feminina, apontada no texto), a lista procura traçar a trajetória do rap em 50 anos, refletindo a “sequência sincera de amor, admiração e entusiasmo” pelo gênero.
