MTV liberou os indicados para a próxima edição do próximo Video Music Awards, que acontece em 12 de setembro, no Prudential Center, em Nova Jersey. Taylor Swift lidera as indicações, concorrendo em oito categorias. SZA, a segunda mais indicada, disputa seis estatuetas. Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo e Sam Smith estão em cinco categorias cada, e Shakira e BLACKPINK e Diddy foram indicados a quatro categorias.
Os votos para a premiação começaram nesta segunda-feira, 7, e vão até o primeiro dia de setembro, exceto a premiação de Melhor Novo Artista, que segue aberta até o dia da premiação. A cerimônia conta com 15 categorias de gênero neutro. As indicações para categorias sociais (Grupo do Ano e Canção do Verão) ainda não foram anunciadas.
